How to use the element properties assignment short cut in Moldflow!

I like shortcuts in Moldflow Insight.

Sometimes we need to use thermally conductive inserts (like BeCu) to extract more heat. Usually these are placed on the core side of the mold.

If you are looking to see the effects of an insert but don’t want to model or insert the insert, you can simply change the element properties. Highlight the elements that will touch the insert – right click properties – Mold properties – Select a different mold material – select and find your insert material.

This can be a short cut to see how large your insert needs to be. I would still recommend modeling the insert and resolving for your final analysis.

Have you ever tried this element properties assignment short cut in Moldflow?
