Why CRIMS can be useful!
Let’s talk about Corrected Residual In-Mold Stress (CRIMS).
CRIMS data is collected on a specific test mold and we measure shrinkage values from that molded sample. This allows us to generate CRIMS coefficients which are used in Midplane and Dual Domain warpage calculations. Materials that have CRIMS data will produce very accurate warpage shapes and values. If a material has tested CRIMS data but supplemental Mechanical data, this could influence my mesh selection decision (Dual Domain or 3D).
